BASEBALL

With the season right around the corner, the Houston Athletics Ticket Office has announced baseball season ticket renewals are now available for the upcoming 2018 season.
Notes
At this time, only 2017 baseball season ticket members will have the opportunity to reserve a seat for 2018, as renewals are available here ... Fans wishing to become a season ticket member will have the opportunity to purchase in early 2018 ... Season tickets for 29 regular-season home games at Schroeder Park are available for $200 for the reserved chairback seating on the lower level of the concourse of the stadium ... For the fourth straight year, the additional "Reserved 2" seating option for the 2018 season is available as fans can purchase an assigned seat in sections 200, 201 and 202 for $150 ... General admission seating will run in sections 203-209 and are available for $100 for the entire season ... Reigning American Athletic Conference Champion Houston Baseball will hold its annual Red-White World Series at Schroeder Park, Wednesday, Nov. 1 -- Friday, Nov. 3 ... All three game times are slated for 6:30 p.m. and are free and open to the public.
MEN'S BASKETBALL

Houston Men's Basketball defeated No. 24 Baylor, 81-78, in an exhibition inside the Ferrell Center on Saturday afternoon.

Senior guard Rob Gray led all players with 25 points and 11 assists ... He connected on 7-of-14 shots from the field and 10-of-14 attempts from the free throw line in 34 minutes ... Both teams received waivers from the NCAA to play the exhibition game with all ticket sales going to Hurricane Harvey relief ... With Texas Farm Bureau Insurance matching the ticket sales total, more than $20,000 was raised from for the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund ... Houston will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the legendary Game of the Century between Houston and UCLA in 1968 and introduces the 2017-18 squad on Nov. 3 inside the Moores Opera House ... Members of the 1967-68 team, including Elvin Hayes and Don Chaney, will join host, CBS Sports broadcaster and UH alumnus Jim Nantz for a round-table discussion beginning at 7 p.m., Nov. 3, inside the Moores Opera House ... Players and support staff members from the Game of the Century will share their memories about that game and the impact it still has on college basketball today ... Legendary sports broadcaster Dick Enberg -- who called the play-by-play action for the Game of the Century for TVS network -- and CBS Sports analyst Seth Davis also will join the panel ... Sampson will join the panel and offer his memories of that game ... Sampson, his staff and student-athletes from the 2017-18 team will be recognized during the event ... The event will then air in January 2018 as part of a documentary on CBS Sports Network celebrating the golden anniversary of the Game of the Century. Chip Rives and Emilie Deutsch will produce the documentary for CBS Sports Network ... Entering their fourth season under Sampson, the Cougars open their season Nov. 10 against McNeese inside H&PE Arena on campus of Texas Southern University ... Will be the first of 15 regular-season home games in Houston ... Season tickets for the 2017-18 campaign are on sale for fans ... To enjoy 15 regular-season home games, fans can purchase Reserved season tickets for $200, while General Admission tickets are available for only $100 at uhcougars.com/tickets ... Current season-ticket holders can visit uhcougars.com/tickets and follow the appropriate links to renew their season tickets online at any time ... As the former Hofheinz Pavilion is transformed into the $60-million Fertitta Center, the Cougars will play their 2017-18 home games inside Health & PE Arena on the campus of nearby Texas Southern University.

Running in a 2-mile race, Mackenzie Ilari was the first Cougar across the line for the women, finishing fourth in 13:09.8 ... The women finished second with 46 points ... On the men's side, Blake Contreras was the first Cougar to enter the chute, finishing the 3-mile race in fourth at 15:44.5 ... The men finished second with 33 points ... Houston held Memphis scoreless throughout the first half, marking the first time the Tigers had been shutout in the first half since a 41-7 loss at ECU on Oct. 13, 2012 ... Postma finished 29-for-40 passing with a career-high 315 yards, one touchdown and one interception. His 29 completions were also a career-high. Both previous marks date back to Tulsa on Oct. 14, 2017 ... Sophomore punter Dane Roy finished with six punts for 269 yards, including a career-long 59-yard boot late in the fourth quarter ... Houston's win over Cincinnati marked the program's first win over a ranked opponent under Head Coach Diego Bocanegra ... For their efforts, freshman forward Jazmin Grant was named The American Rookie of the Week, while junior goalkeeper Rachel Estopare napped Goalkeeper of the Week honors ... Grant finished with one goal and three assists ... The award is the second of Grant's career ... Estopare notched 13 saves in 165 minutes in goal ... The junior only allowed two goals across the weekend and stifled a Cincinnati offense that had posted three or more goals five times in 2017 ... The honor is Estopare's second weekly honor and fourth of her career ... With a win at SMU, the Houston program can secure a spot in The American Championships.

Sophomore libero Katie Karbo helped Houston to a 2-0 weekend, leading the back row with 6.57 digs per set ... The libero had 29 digs against UCF and added 17 more versus USF ... The conference nod is the second for Karbo in 2017 ... Freshman setter Abby Irvine and senior outside hitter Sarah Afflerbaugh each posted two double-doubles to highlight the offense ... Against USF, Houston recorded 50 kills and posted a .302 attack percentage ... The 50 kills are the most for the Cougars in a three-set match on the season, while their .302 clip is the program's highest efficiency in a conference match since joining The American.
