OFFENSE
• In Houston's first drive, senior quarterback Kyle Postma found sophomore quarterback D'Eriq King for a 23-yard completion.
• Postma later connected with senior wide receiver Steven Dunbar for a 36-yard completion early in the third quarter.
• Senior running back Dillon Birden broke for a 24-yard touchdown run with 11:32 left in the fourth quarter.
SPECIAL TEAMS
• Senior wide receiver John Leday had a 25-yard kick return to open the third quarter.
• Leday later added a 24-yard return in the closing minute of the game. The play gives Houston 39 plays of 20 yards or more on the season.
DEFENSE
• The Houston defense shutout Tulsa in the first quarter and held them to seven points in the second quarter. The Cougars have held their opponent to seven or less points in 19 of 24 quarters.
• With one turnover forced, Houston now has 138 since 2013, the most among FBS schools.
Kyle Postma
• Senior quarterback Kyle Postma made his fifth career start at Tulsa. Postma also made starts on Nov. 21, 2015, at UConn, on Sept. 10, 2016, against Lamar and Sept. 30, 2017, at Temple on Sept. 30, 2017, and against SMU on Oct. 7, 2017.
• Postma finished 25-for-41 passing with a career-high 258 yards and two interceptions. Postma tied his career high in completions while setting a new career high in attempts. His previous career highs for completions and attempts came in a 25-for-36 showing at Temple on Sept. 30, 2017.
• Postma fell to 3-2 in his career as a starting quarterback.
D'Eriq King
• Sophomore quarterback D'Eriq King pulled in a 23-yard reception from quarterback Kyle Postma in Houston's first drive.
Steven Dunbar
• With his third catch of the game, senior wide receiver Steven Dunbar moved into the top 20 all-time at Houston for career receptions.
• Dunbar finished with 10 catches to give him 144 for his career, passing Brian Robinson (136; 1998-2002), Brandon Middleton (137; 1999-2003), Tracy Good (138; 1989-92), Sherman Smith (140; 1990-93) and Demarcus Ayers (142; 2013-15) to rank 17th all-time.
• With 10 receptions, Dunbar recorded a new career high in catches. His previous high was nine receptions at Navy on Oct. 8, 2016.
• With 107 receiving yards, Dunbar moved up to 13th all-time at Houston for career receiving yards with 1,822 yards, passing Kimble Anders (1,718; 1985-89), Daniel Spencer (1,754; 2011-14), James Dixon (1,762; 1987-88), Ken Hebert (1,785; 1965-67), Linell Bonner (1,779; 2014-Pres.) and Don Bass (1,821; 1974-77) to move into 13th all-time.
• With 107 receiving yards, Dunbar recorded a season high in yardage and his fourth career 100-yard game. His previous high was 83 yards against Texas Tech on Sept. 23, 2017, inside TDECU Stadium.
• Dunbar has recorded at least six catches in every game in 2017.
• Dunbar recorded a 36-yard reception from senior quarterback Kyle Postma early in the second quarter. The reception was Dunbar's longest of the season.
Caden Novikoff
• Junior kicker Caden Novikoff converted a 26-yard field goal attempt with 49 seconds left in the first quarter. The field goal is Novikoff's sixth of the season and his fourth consecutive conversion.
Duke Catalon
• Junior running back Duke Catalon put Houston up 10-0 with a one-yard touchdown run at the 11:58 mark in the second quarter. The score is Catalon's fourth of the season and eighth overall of his career.
• Catalon finished with 83 yards on a career-high 24 carries. His previous high was 22 carries, a mark achieved twice and last against SMU on Oct. 7, 2017, inside TDECU Stadium.
Linell Bonner
• With his third catch of the game, senior wide receiver Linell Bonner moved up to 11th all-time at Houston for career receptions, tying Freddie Gilbert (1991-92) and Charles Sims (2009-12) with 158 career receptions. He added two more receptions to give him 160 catches for his career.
• Bonner finished with five receptions for 44 yards.
• With 44 yards, Bonner has 1,779 career reception yards, passing Daniel Spencer (1,754; 2011-14), James Dixon (1,762; 1987-88) and Ken Hebert (1,785; 1965-67) to move up to 15th all-time.
Ed Oliver
• Sophomore defensive tackle Ed Oliver combined with senior defensive end Nick Thurman to sack quarterback Luke Skipper in the second quarter. The half sack was Oliver's first of the season.
• With nine tackles, Oliver has recorded four games with at least five tackles in 2017.
Nick Thurman
• Senior defensive end Nick Thurman combined with sophomore defensive tackle Ed Oliver to sack quarterback Luke Skipper in the second quarter. The half sack gives Thurman 1.5 sacks on the season.
Jeremy Winchester
• Junior cornerback Jeremy Winchester intercepted quarterback Luke Skipper in the end zone late in the second quarter. The interception is the first of his career.
Dane Roy
• Sophomore punter Dane Roy downed a punt at the Tulsa one-yard line to give him 14 inside the 20-yard line on the season.
D'Juan Hines
• With 20 tackles, senior linebacker D'Juan Hines recorded his second double-dight tackle game of the season and third overall of his career.
• Hines' 20 tackles are a new career high and tie for the 11th most in a single game at Houston. Hanik Milligan (2000-02) recorded 20 tackles twice in games against Rice on Sept. 1, 2001, and at Army on Oct. 6, 2001.
Dillon Birden
• Senior running back Dillon Birden pulled Houston within one possession at 24-17 with a 24-yard touchdown run with 11:32 left in the fourth quarter. The score is Birden's third touchdown of the season and ninth overall of his career.
• Birden finished with 11 carries for 82 yards, one yard off his career high of 83 yards set at Arizona on Sept. 9, 2017.
Reggie Chevis
• Senior defensive lineman Reggie Chevis registered 12 tackles, a new career high. His previous high was four tackles, a mark achieved twice and last against SMU on Oct. 7, 2017, inside TDECU Stadium.
