FRANKLIN, Tenn. â€" University of Houston sophomore Leonie Harm posted a 2-under-par 70 in Sunday's Final Round at the Mason Rudolph Championships to finish in a tie for 15th at Vanderbilt Legends Club.
As a team, the Cougars enjoyed their lowest score of the three-day, 54-hole tournament with a total of 3-over-291 and moved up two places into 10th at 888.
Harm, who began competing with the Cougars at the semester break a year ago, was a steady performer throughout the Final Round. Although the Gerlingen, Germany, native started her day with a bogey on No. 10, she quickly rebounded with eight straight pars to close out her front nine.
Harm, who was the Cougars' first representative at the NCAA Championships as an individual in 2015, sank her first birdie of the day on No. 1 and drained back-to-back birdies on Nos. 7-8 to record the Cougars' lowest round to date of the season for a three-round total of 2-over 218.
Junior Ivon Reijers posted an even-par 72 for the second time at the Mason Rudolph Championships and tied for 18th at 219. Like Harm, the Barcelona native joined the Cougars at the semester break but did not compete in any tournaments while sitting out as a redshirt.
Junior Megan Thothong, who was a 2016 All-American Athletic Conference honoree, tied for 37th at 224, while juniors Kelli Rollo and Allie Andersen tied for 57th at 230. Rollo made her UH debut in team-scoring competition, while Andersen enjoyed her Cougar debut after competing for her first two seasons at Colorado State.
Alabama captured the team championship with a score of 825, thanks to a Final Round 263. SMU finished second at 868 with Northwestern in third at 871.
Individually, Alabama's Cheyenne Knight posted her third straight round in the 60s to earn medalist honors at 14-under 202. Knight finished five strokes ahead of teammates Kristen Gillman and Lauren Stephenson.
UP NEXT
The Cougars return to action Oct. 9-10 when they compete at the Jim West Challenge on the Tom Fazio Championship Course at Carlton Woods in The Woodlands, Texas.
