Logsdon and Dolence Elected to American SAAC Executive Board

PROVIDECE, R.I. -- University of Houston Track and Field senior Bailee Logsdon and Soccer junior Georgi Dolence were elected to the first-ever American Athletic Conference Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Executive Board, the American Athletic Conference office announced Thursday.
Logsdon, a member of the Track and Field team, will serve as the American Athletic SAAC's vice chair. The Huffman, Texas, native served as the 2015-16 Houston SAAC President. She is a two-year letterwinner for the Cougars, competing in multiple events for the Track and Field team. She finished sixth in the pentathlon at the 2015 American Indoor Championships with 3,443 points and four top-5 finishes including, the 800m, shot put, 60m hurdles and long jump.
Dolence, a member of the Houston Soccer team, will serve as the American Athletic SAAC's coordinator of community engagement. The Las Vegas, native served as the 2015-16 Houston SAAC secretary. She is a two-year letterwinner for Houston and led the team last season with three assists.
The American SAAC serves as the voice of student-athletes who represent the Conference's 12 member institutions spanning 21 sports. The mission of SAAC is to improve communication for all student-athletes at each member school as well as enhance communication between the institutions. SAAC takes an active role in understanding and providing feedback regarding NCAA and Conference legislations, and promotes student-athlete well-being, academic achievement, personal development and community service.
Beginning in 2016-17, The American's National SAAC representative and executive board members will be involved in various conference meetings throughout the year.
Houston was one of two schools to have two student athletes elected to the six-member SAAC Executive Board.
