Houston's leading returning receiver with 56 receptions for 752 yards and six touchdowns last season, Allen ranks third among returning receivers in The American with his 56 receptions and six touchdowns, and fifth with his 752 yards.
The Missouri City, Texas native led Houston in targets (25), receptions (12), receiving yards (355) and touchdowns (4) at the stretch vertical depth level (defined as passes traveling 20 or more yards downfield) last season.
The Biletnikoff Award annually recognizes the outstanding receiver in college football. Any player, regardless of position (wide receiver, tight end, slot back, and running back) who catches a pass is eligible for the award. As such, the Biletnikoff Award recognizes the outstanding receiver, not merely outstanding wide receiver. The award recipient is selected by the highly distinguished Biletnikoff Award National Selection Committee, a group of prominent college football journalists, commentators, and former receivers.
