Cameron Malveaux Invited to NFLPA Bowl

HOUSTON â€" Following the conclusion of his playing career for the University of Houston, defensive end Cameron Malveaux has been invited to play in the 2017 NFLPA Bowl on Jan. 21 in Carson, Calif. The game will air at 3 p.m. CT on FS1.

The 2016 captain started all 13 games this season at defensive end for Houston and closed his career with 26 starts in 52 games played. His senior year saw the Beaumont, Texas, native end the season with 21 tackles including 7.5 tackles for loss and one sack. He also recovered two fumbles and broke up one pass.
He closed out his career with 81 tackles and 17 tackles for loss with four sacks, five pass breakups and three fumble recoveries.
Malveaux is the second Houston player this week to be invited to the NFLPA Bowl, joining quarterback Greg Ward Jr. in receiving the honor.
Last year's NFLPA Bowl game saw Houston alum Elandon Roberts make a significant impact and be taken as a sixth-round NFL Draft selection by the New England Patriots.
