The holidays are here and so is Bowl Week as the Cougars prepare to take on San Diego State in Las Vegas next week for the Las Vegas Bowl presented by GEICO set for Saturday, December 17 at 2:30 p.m. CT on ABC and KPRC 950 AM.

FRIDAY, DEC. 16 |
With gameday a day away, the Las Vegas Bowl hosted its press conference and kickoff luncheon at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

12 - 1:30 p.m. | Kickoff Luncheon
The #HTownTakeover joined San Diego State at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas for the Las Vegas Bowl Kickoff Luncheon.

11 - 11:30 a.m. | Press Conference
Houston Football head coach Major Applewhite and senior captains Cameron Malveaux and Tyler McCloskey met with the media during Friday's afternoon press conference.

THURSDAY, DEC. 15 |
Houston Football continued to represent the #HTownTakeover brand in Las Vegas as Thursday began with a community service event at a local elementary school before practicing for the second time in preparation for the Las Vegas Bowl this Saturday.
Later that evening, the Cougars were able to experience the bright lights of Las Vegas on the High Roller ride.

5 - 7 p.m. | High Roller Vegas
Houston Football experienced Las Vegas from 550 ft. high on its High Roller ride Thursday evening.

12 - 2 p.m. | Practice #2
The Cougars held their second practice in Las Vegas Thursday afternoon at Bishop Gorman HS's Fertitta Field in preparation for Saturday's Las Vegas Bowl matchup vs. San Diego State at 2:30 p.m. CT.

10 a.m. - 11 a.m. | Goodie Two Shoes Community Service
The holiday season was in full swing Thursday morning as members of the #HTownTakeover visited a Las Vegas elementary school to join in with the Goodie Two Shoes Foundation to deliever and help provide shoes and gifts to young local children for the holiday season.

WEDNESDAY, DEC. 14 |
Houston Football had a busy first official day in Las Vegas as Wednesday opened with several student-athletes participating in a visit to Opportunity Village before heading to Practice #1.
Head Coach Major Applewhite and captains Greg Ward Jr. and Brandon Wilson then met with several members of the media for a photo and interview session at the Golden Nugget hotel before meeting the team for the Welcome Reception at the Fremont Street experience.

5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. | Welcome Reception at Fremont Street Experience
The Cougars were introduced to Las Vegas locals on Fremont Street at the Team Welcome Reception. Houston student-athletes Garrett Davis, Mac Long, Linell Bonner and Matt Adams then went on to capture three wins in the four events against San Diego State players.

4:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. | Media/Photo Opportunity
Head Coach Major Applewhite and captains Greg Ward Jr. and Brandon Wilson met with the media at the Golden Nugget Hotel on Fremont Street.

11:45 a.m. - 1:45 p.m. | Practice #1
Houston Football practiced for the first time in Las Vegas on Wednesday afternoon. The Cougars enjoyed a nice workout at Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas before moving into the night's Bowl Week activities.

9 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. | Opportunity Village Visit
Several members of the #HTownTakeover visited with their new friends from Opportunity Village during a Wednesday morning visit. The student-athletes joined in on arts and crafts, music, dance and a meet-and-greet with locals from the campus in Las Vegas.

TUESDAY, DEC. 13 |
The #HTownTakeover began its bowl week on Tuesday with travel out west. Las Vegas welcomed the Cougars to the team hotel, Mandalay Bay, upon arrival and greeted the Cougars with a Viva Las Vegas melody from Elvis.

THURSDAY, DEC. 8 |
Las Vegas Bowl representatives made their way to Houston Thursday, Dec. 8 to officially welcome the #HTownTakeover into the Las Vegas Bowl, presented by GEICO, set for Saturday, Dec. 17 at 2:30 pm CT.
