Houston SAAC to Host Can Drive Nov. 12

HOUSTON -- The Houston Athletics Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is encouraging fans attending Houston's Homecoming on Saturday to support Hunger Week by donating canned goods.
Donations will be accepted at gates entering TDECU Stadium on Saturday or during the week in the Houston Athletics Communications office inside the Athletics/Alumni Center at 3204 Cullen Blvd., Suite 2008.

The most needed items are canned fruits, pasta, canned tuna or chicken, canned vegetables, canned beans and peanut butter. The Houston Food Bank is unable to accept open items, homemade items, perishable foods, baby foods or items with "expired" dates.
Houston SAAC's Hunger Week is in conjunction with the University of Houston Athletics Department. All donations will directly support the Houston Food Bank.
Each week, the Houston Food Bank feeds 137,000 people through partnerships with pantries, kitchens, and shelters in the Houston area.
