SAN ANTONIO, Texas â€" The University of Houston Women's Golf program lowered its score for the third straight day, but it would not be enough to move higher as the Cougars tied for 11th at 891 at the Maryb S. Kauth Invitational on Tuesday afternoon.
After posting scores of 299-298 in the first two rounds, the Cougars enjoyed a team total of 294 during Tuesday's play to tie with LSU overall.
Sophomore Leonie Harm led the Cougars with an even-par 72 on the 6,450-yard course at Briggs Ranch Golf Club with the remaining four team members each posting 74s during the Final Round.
For the second straight tournament, junior Allie Andersen led the Cougars. The Woodlands, Texas, native tied for 26th at 219. Junior and 2016 All-American Athletic Conference honoree Megan Thothong finished 44th at 223, while senior Emily Gilbreth tied for 45th at 224.
Junior Ivon Reijers tied for 65th at 232.
No. 9 Arkansas won the team championship with a score of 848 to finish five strokes ahead of No. 39 Texas A&M. No. 23 Tennessee finished third at 861 with Mississippi State (863), No. 35 TCU (864), No. 21 SMU (872), UTSA (873), No. 32 Auburn (873) and No. 41 Kansas State (874) rounding out the top-10 leaders.
Individually, No. 39 Alana Uriell of Arkansas earned medalist honors at 12-under 204 to finish two strokes ahead of teammate Kaylee Benton.
