Houston Football Jersey Auction Begins Oct. 19

HOUSTON - For the fifth consecutive season, the University of Houston Department of Athletics, Cougar Pride and the UH Alumni Association will team up to auction off the game jerseys worn during a key game on Houston Football's schedule.
For 2015, the jerseys from the Cougars' Halloween non-conference showdown against SEC member Vanderbilt inside TDECU Stadium will be auctioned. Game time will be announced on Oct. 19 with proceeds raised from the auction benefitting student-athlete scholarships and alumni scholarships and programming at the University.

The auction officially starts on Oct. 19 but with a new catch in 2015. First-year Houston Football Head Coach Tom Herman and his staff will not unveil the uniforms until the team first sees them Oct. 31.
With that in mind, fans may purchase the Homecoming jerseys beginning at 5 p.m. (CT), Oct. 19, but must do so sight unseen with a one-time Buy It Now cost of $300 (not including shipping and handling).
After the team sees the uniforms for the first time, the Buy It Now portion of the auction will end at 1 p.m. (CT), Oct. 30, and images of the jerseys will be displayed on the web site, beginning at a time to be announced on Oct. 31. Those jerseys not purchased during the Buy It Now portion will be available in a regular auction for fans.

In addition to the jerseys, other memorabilia will be available during the auction, which can be accessed at UHCougars.com and Houstonalumni.com once it begins. Fans should stay tuned to UHCougars.comand Houston Football social media sites for the latest information.
The auctions for all jerseys and memorabilia end at 5 p.m. (CT), Nov. 11.
"Our annual online jersey auction has grown to become a favorite of Cougar fans, and I know they will be excited about the jerseys that we will wear for our Oct. 31 game vs. Vanderbilt," Vice President for Athletics Hunter Yurachek said. "Proceeds from the auction will continue to support the scholarship needs of our student-athletes, and I sincerely appreciate the continued partnership between the UH Alumni Association and Cougar Pride for this initiative."
