Cougars Complete Second Day of NCAA Championships

Eugene, Ore. - The Houston Cougar women's track and field team wrapped up the second day of the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, competing in the 4x100m relay and the 100m hurdles at Hayward Field on Thursday in Eugene, Ore.
The Cougar women opened up the day with the 4x100m relay to begin the evening session of running events. The team of seniors Sade Mariah Greenidge, Brittany Kinney and Kiersten Brewer as well as sophomore Bria Carter turned in a 44.88 to finish 15th. The Cougars earned the chance to compete at the national meet after posting a 44.52 at the NCAA West Regional qualifying them sixth.
Greenidge, would be back on the track a little over an hour later to compete as an individual in the semifinals of the women's 100m hurdles. The Bridgetown, Barbados native clocked a 13.35 to finish in 22nd.
UP NEXT FOR HOUSTON
Junior hurdler Issac Williams will look to make history for the Cougars as he competes in the finals of the 110m hurdles at the NCAA Championships on Friday, June 12. The Willingboro, N.J., qualified fourth in the semifinals of the 110m hurdles, on Wednesday, after matching his personal best of 13.56. Williams earned a qualification based on time after having one of the two fastest times of the non-automatic qualifiers.
On Saturday, June 13, Kinney will wrap up Houston's season when she competes in the triple jump at 2 p.m. The senior, Karnes City, Texas native qualified for the NCAA Championships after posting a personal best 12.83m leap at the NCAA West Regional in Austin. Kinney will compete in flight two of the triple jump semifinals.
