Greenidge Earns American Track Athlete of the Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Senior hurdler Sade Mariah-Greenidge was named The American Athletic Conference Track Athlete of the Week for her performance in the 100m and 400m hurdles at the Rice Victor Lopez Bayou Classic, the conference office announced Tuesday.
Greenidge posted the top time in the American Athletic Conference so far this season in the 400m hurdles after posting a 59.25 to finish second in the event. The Bridgetown, Barbados native currently holds the 26th best time in the nation in the 400m hurdles.
Greenidge also logged the second-fastest time conference time so far this season in the 100m hurdles when she crossed the line in 13.72. The 2014 American Athletic Conference champion in the event finished second at the Victor Lopez and now holds the 22nd fastest time in the Western Division.
The award marks back-to-back weeks a Cougar hurdler has won the American Athletic Conference Track Athlete of the Week. Junior Issac Williams won the award on the men's side last week after posting a 14.23.
UP NEXT FOR HOUSTON
The Cougars travel to Austin, Texas to compete in the 2015 Texas Invitational on Saturday, April 11. Action is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. with the women's hammer throw, while running events kick off by way of the 4x100m Relay at 2:30.
