HOUSTON - Houston center Will Noble was named to ESPN's Freshman All-America Team Thursday. The true freshman removed his redshirt in Houston's sixth game of the season at Tulane and never let go of starting center duties.
Thursday's honor marked the second in as many weeks for Noble, who was named to USA Today's Freshman All-America Team last week.
Commanding the center of a line that has seen 10 different starting combinations this season, Noble helped lead a unit that ranks 12th nationally in scoring offense at 40.6 points per game, 13th nationally in rushing offense at 239.5 yards per game and 19th nationally in total offense at 486.9 yards per game.
Playing 565 snaps on the year, Noble led the Houston offensive line with an 85 percent grade while recording 25 knockdown blocks.
Noble and No. 14/16/18 Houston face No. 9/8/9 Florida State in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl on Thursday, Dec. 31, at 11 a.m. CT in Atlanta.
