Ward Named Manning Award Star of the Week

HOUSTON - Houston quarterback Greg Ward Jr. has been named a Manning Award Star of the Week following his performance in Houston's 52-31 win over Navy Friday to clinch the American Athletic Conference West Division title.
Ward had 391 yards of total offense in Friday's win and completed 26-of-35 passes (74.3 percent) for a season-best 308 yards and three touchdowns.
The elusive and electrifying Ward added 83 rushing yards and one rushing score, a 5-yard run.

Houston fans can now go to the Allstate Sugar Bowl Facebook page to vote for what they think was the best performance from this past weekend. When voting closes on Wednesday at 11 a.m. (Central), the top vote-getter will be announced as the Manning Award Quarterback of the Week.
Ward and No. 17/18 Houston host No. 20/21 Temple this Saturday at 11 a.m. in the inaugural American Athletic Conference Championship at TDECU Stadium.
