Six Track & Field Athletes Named USTFCCCA All-Americans

HOUSTON - John Horton, Issac Williams and the men's 4x100-meter relay team have earned All-America honors for the 2014 outdoor season the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced Monday afternoon.

Horton was awarded first team All-America honors after an eighth place finish in the men's triple jump at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Eugene, Ore., this weekend.

He posted a personal best leap of 15.97m (52'-4.75") in his second attempt of the competition. He moved on to the finals but wouldn't improve his mark. Last year, Horton clinched a second team accolade after finishing 15th at the national meet.

Williams received his first All-America honor in his collegiate career as he recorded an 11th place finish in the semifinals of the 110m hurdles. He was awarded second-team honors for his finish.

The men's 4x100m relay team of LeShon Collins, Errol Nolan, James Arnett and Cameron Burrell, also received second team All-America honors. The quartet ran a 39.65 during the semifinals to finish 16th in the nation.

First-team honors were given to those who placed in the championships' top eight in an event or were a member of an eight-person final. Those who finished between ninth and 16th place earned second team honors.

In addition, six men and one woman earned honorable mention honors.
