Track & Field Wraps Day One of Mt. SAC Relays

WALNUT, Calif. - The University of Houston track and field program wrapped day one of the prestigious Mt. SAC Relays today in Walnut, Calif., as freshman Cameron Burrell led the Cougars with a second place finish in the men's 100-meter dash.
Burrell ran a wind-aided time of 10.25 (+2.5), the best time of the season on the team. Senior Michael Mahnke led the team in the field events when he finished on top of the men's pole vault. He cleared 5.20m (17-0.75), tying his personal best set at the Rice Victor Lopez Classic (March 28).
On the women's side, senior Ngozi Onwumere ran a season best of 23.47w (+2.8) to place fourth in the 200m.
UP NEXT
Mt. SAC Relays competition continues tomorrow afternoon as the men's and women's 4x100m relay teams take on the nation's elite teams in the invitational at 3 p.m. (CT). Senior Errol Nolan will compete in the men's 400m invitational.
