Cougar Pride Announces 2015 Fiscal Year Changes
Cougar Pride Members:
We appreciate your continued support of Cougar Pride and Houston Athletics! We are always looking to enhance the donor experience and have heard your suggestions. In turn, as we prepare to release updated Cougar Pride information for 2015, we would like to inform you of changes that will take place this coming fiscal year.
In an effort to align with the University of Houston's fiscal year, the 2015 Cougar Pride fiscal year will span from December 1, 2014 - June 30, 2015. In turn, the 2015 Cougar Pride fiscal year spans only seven (7) months. In subsequent years, the Cougar Pride fiscal year will span a full 12 months from July 1 - June 30.

Monthly Donations
- Members who donate on a monthly basis via a credit card will have their total 2014 commitment amount rolled over and paid out over the 2015 seven (7) month fiscal year. For example, if you donated $1,000 over 12 months last fiscal year, you would have donated $83.33 on a monthly basis. Due to the shortened fiscal year, you will now donate $142.86 on a monthly basis. If you would like to make any changes to your commitment amount for 2015 due to the shortened giving time-period, please contact Cougar Pride at (713) 743-GoUH (4684) or email cougarpride@uh.eduby December 5. If a request to change your 2015 commitment amount is not received by December 5, 2014, Cougar Pride will automatically rollover your 2014 commitment amount into the seven (7) month 2015 Cougar Pride fiscal year.
- All Cougar Pride members who donate through an automatic bank draft will be contacted by Cougar Pride to get your approval per University guidelines as automatic bank drafts are handled differently. Unfortunately, Cougar Pride cannot roll over an increased amount to account for the seven (7) month time frame without written approval. If you would like to make any changes to your commitment amount for 2015 due to the shortened giving time-period, please contact Cougar Pride at (713) 743-GoUH (4684) or email cougarpride@uh.eduby December 5.
Matching Gifts
- Many Cougar Pride members take advantage of employer matching gift programs. Cougar Pride awards credit for matching gifts based upon when the matching funds are received. If you plan on receiving matching gift credit, we recommend making your contribution as early as possible to allow time for the matching process. These changes will allow Cougar Pride to align various Houston Athletics initiatives such as season ticket renewals and sport-specific giving deadlines. Cougar Pride will be better equipped to ensure our donors are receiving the benefits associated with their giving levels in a timely manner for the correct athletic season(s).
The Cougar Pride brochure for the 2015 year will be sent out with football renewals in early spring.
