Joey Mbu Invited to Reese's Senior Bowl

HOUSTON - Houston senior defensive tackle Joey Mbu has been selected to play in the Reese's Senior Bowl at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Ala., Reese's Senior Bowl Executive Director Phil Savage announced Monday. The game kicks off at 3 p.m. CT on Saturday, Jan. 24, and will air on the NFL Network. All practices leading to the game will also be televised by the NFL Network.

The senior defensive tackle from Richmond, Texas, has 31 career starts for the Cougars, including a current streak of 23 straight games with a start, and was selected by his teammates as captain for the 2014 season.
Mbu has 29 tackles this season, one away from a career-best 30 tackles in a season, along with 4.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, three pass breakups and one interception, all career bests in a season.
This season, he has racked up a career-best eight stops vs. UCF and pulled in his second career interception at BYU. For his career, Mbu has 89 tackles including 10.5 for a loss and 4.5 sacks.
