This Week: Houston heads to Austin to compete in its second event of the fall, the Rouge Grass Routes Running Festival, on Friday, Sept. 28.
Notes: This is the second year in the row that the Cougars have participated in the Rouge Grass Routes Running Festival. The men finished fifth while the women finished eighth in 2011.

This Week: Houston opens its final season of Conference USA play and looks to bounce back from an 0-3 start Saturday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. in the Bayou Bucket Bowl vs. Rice (1-3, 0-1 Conference USA) at Reliant Stadium, home of the NFL's Houston Texans.
Notes: Despite having the weekend off, punter Richie Leone and linebacker Derrick Mathews each rose to No. 1 nationally in their respective stats ... Leone leads the nation in punting with average of 48.8 yards per punt while Mathews leads the NCAA in tackles for loss with 2.67 per game ... Since 2005, Houston leads Conference USA with a league record of 41-15 (.732 winning percentage), just ahead of Tulsa at 41-16 (.719) ... Houston's first three opponents have a combined record of 8-2 (.800 winning percentage) as Rice will be the first opponent it faces with a losing record.
Promos: Houston student tickets start are available for just $10 while general public tickets begin at $20 through the University of Houston Athletics Ticket Office ... The Houston Touchdown Club will hold its Bayou Bucket Lunch on Thursday at 12 p.m. at the Bayou Events Center ... This Week: Houston is competing at the Shoal Creek Invitational on Monday and Tuesday at Shoal Creek Golf Club in Birmingham, Ala. The team will play 36 holes Monday with the final 18 holes on Tuesday morning... This will be the second of four tournaments for the Cougars during the fall.

Last Week: Houston opened conference play this Friday with a 2-2 double-overtime draw against SMU. They followed that performance with another double-overtime draw (0-0) against Tulsa.
This Week: The Cougars travel to face nationally-ranked UCF at 6 p.m. on Friday in Orlando, followed by a trip to Hattiesburg, Miss., on Sunday to face Southern Miss at 1 p.m.
Notes: Opening conference with two double-overtime draws has only happened twice in program history with the last time was coming in 2002.

This Week: Houston begins the Fall exhibition season this weekend at the Sugar Land College Classic Sept. 29 and 30. The Cougars face Galveston and Alvin College on Saturday and St. Mary's University and Texas State on Sunday at Imperial Park.
Notes: The Sugar Land College Classic is one of two tournaments the Cougars will participate in the fall with the next being the SK College Classic Oct. 6-7.

This Week: The Cougars enter the last week of preseason as they prep for the start of the season signaled by the annual Red and White Meet, hosted at the CRWC Natatorium on Oct. 3.
Notes: The Red and White Meet is one of two home meets this Fall season with the other being the highly-competitive Phill Hansel Invite, Nov. 15-17.

Last Week: The Houston women's tennis team continued its fall tournament schedule over the weekend, competing against some of the nation's top programs at the Longhorn Invitational in Austin. The sophomore duo of Liselot Koenen and Charlotte Phillips opened doubles play with an 8-4 victory over a tandem from Texas, while Elena Kordolaimi and Dionne Sanders teamed up to defeat duos from West Virginia and Tulane to advance to the doubles semifinals. In singles play, Kordolaimi and Sanders each picked up a win in the main draw while Phillips claimed three victories in the consolation bracket, including wins over opponents from LSU and West Virginia, to clinch the flight title.
This Week: The Cougars return to action on Friday at the Lumberjack Classic in Nacogdoches, Texas.
Notes: Highly-touted transfer Elena Kordolaimi competed in her first action as a Cougar, going 2-1 in doubles play with Dionne Sanders and 1-1 in singles action. After Charlotte Phillips' run through the singles consolation bracket, the sophomore now leads the squad with a 5-2 record through three fall tournaments.

Last Week: Houston earned its first Conference USA victory on the road at Memphis on Sunday. The Cougars were led by senior Katie Norris, who tallied her fifth double-double this season with 18 kills and 17 digs in the win. Houston fell to cross-town rival Rice and UAB on the road prior to Sunday's win.
This Week: Houston returns home to host Conference USA leader Tulsa at 7 p.m. Friday and SMU at 1 p.m. on Sunday in league action. The two home games open up a slate of four straight home contests for the Cougars.
