HOUSTON - Houston football head coach Tony Levine announced the signing of two junior college defenders to national letters of intent Wednesday. ASA College defensive end Trevor Harris and Diablo Valley College defensive back Turon Walker will enroll at the University of Houston at the beginning of the 2013 spring semester.
A 5-11, 185-pound cornerback, Walker led Diablo Valley with five interceptions and six pass deflections as a sophomore including one interception he returned for a touchdown. The Stockton, Calif., native played a major role on a Diablo Valley defense that limited opposing offenses to just 207.6 yards per game en route to an 8-2 record in 2011.
A Mount Dora, Fla., native, Harris opened his collegiate career at ASA College as a wide receiver before moving to defensive end. The 6-5, 230-pound defender who runs a 4.53 40-yard dash helped ASA to a 9-1 record as his defense held opponents to just 140.6 yards per contest.
