Two Cougars Place Second in 800m at Texas Relays

HOUSTON - The Cougars track and field team completed the second day of the Texas Relays with a pair of second place finishes in the 800m. Doug Kelley clocked in at 1:53.34 for the men's runner up title as Ciera Johnson raced to 2:210.08 for the women's competition.
Senior Alex Bentley won his third straight pole vault event with his 5.20m/17-0.75 clearance in the pole vault 'B' flight competition.
For the first time of the outdoor season, multievent athletes had a chance to compete in all their events
Wesley Bray placed sixth overall in the tough field despite equaling or bettering a personal best in four events for a score of 7,571.
Megan Frausto took tenth place by improving in five personal bests to earn 5,106 points.
UP NEXT
Houston returns to action tomorrow with the 4x100m at 9:30 a.m. and the field events beginning at 12:30 p.m. with the hammer throw.
