Lonnegren Earns Bid to NCAA Championships

AUSTIN, Texas - University of Houston sophomore diver Julia Lonnegren took third place in the NCAA Zone D Platform Diving Championships hosted by the University of Texas to qualify for the NCAA Championships.
On the final day left to punch her ticket to the national championships, Lonnegren delivered with a brilliant performance on the platform. She posted a score of 565.70 to finish third behind Shelby Cullinan (593.05) and Maren Taylor (576.05) of Texas.
Lonnegren will join senior All-American Lacey Truelove at the NCAA Championships in Austin, Texas, March 17-19. Truelove placed 15th (283.35) on Sunday, after already qualifying for the championships on Friday when she claimed the NCAA Zone D 3-meter title.
Both divers will begin their hunt for a national title on March 17.
