Lonnegren Takes Tenth in NCAA Zone Diving 1-Meter Championships

HOUSTON - University of Houston sophomore diver Julia Lonnegren placed 10th in the NCAA Zone D 1-Meter Diving Championships hosted by the University of Texas on Saturday.
After qualifying for the finals on Saturday, Lonnegren posted a score of 536.80 on the day to finish 10th, missing the qualifying mark for the NCAA Championships. She will have her final chance to qualify on Sunday during the platform competition. Once a diver qualifies on one board, they automatically advance in all three.
Senior All-American Lacey Truelove also competed on Saturday, posting a score of 244.05 in prelims to finish 23rd. Truelove advanced to the NCAA Championships after claiming the NCAA Zone title in the 3-meter on Friday.
Reigning NCAA Champion in the 3-Meter, Minnesota's Kelci Bryant took first place (643.65) on Saturday.
