Cougar Pride Announces Changes for 2011

In the summer of 2011, construction will begin on a parking garage in the Robertson Stadium parking lot (15D and 15F), which will eliminate 1,079 spaces for next season making the remaining spots in that area limited.
"We understand the parking situation is different for 2011," said Director of Athletics Mack Rhoades said. "We evaluated the best solutions and feel with our priority point system, we are able to fairly and honestly reward our fans for their past and present loyalty. We apologize that there will be a short-term inconvenience, however this will provide a long-term benefit of more than 2,000 additional spaces."
Cougar Pride is striving to provide the $5.2 million in scholarship funding for more than 350 University of Houston student-athletes.
"We are excited to be able to offer available parking opportunities to our most loyal Cougar Pride supporters," said Associate Director of Athletics for Development Jeramiah Dickey. "Our primary goal is to raise the necessary funds to cover all of our student-athlete's scholarship needs and with our fans' support we can enhance the student-athlete experience."
Parking pass availability will be based on priority points. The minimum donation to be eligible to park around Robertson Stadium will be $500. Based on 2010 donations, most All-American Club members ($1,000-$2,499) will be allocated passes to the Yellow lot (15D). Some All-Conference Club donors ($500-$999) may have access to lot 15D along with the Teal (15F) and Orange (12A-South) lots.
There is a possibility All-Conference Club members will be allocated passes to the Blue lot (16B/C) depending on the number of donors to Cougar Pride at that level and their priority points. All donors who give $2,500 or more should receive the same parking opportunities in the Red lot (12A).
Captain's Club ($250-$499) donors will have parking availability in the Blue lots (16 B/C) with overflow in the Brown lot (16D). As a new benefit for 2011, Cougar Pride members at the Varsity Club level ($100-$249) will receive complimentary parking in lot 16D. Fans parking in lots 16B/C and 16D will have access to a shuttle running to Robertson Stadium two hours prior to kickoff and for one hour after the game's conclusion.
For Cougar Pride members to ensure parking in these elite areas, donations should be made by the June 15 deadline. While the priority point benefits have not changed, the parking allocation will be based on priority points at a specific donor level if the area is filled to capacity.
Also added for 2011 is a Director's Club pregame hospitality for men's basketball games at Hofheinz for members of the Director's Circle, Commissioner's Circle and the Corbin J. Robertson Society.
