Julia Lonnegren Named Conference USA Diver of The Week

HOUSTON - Junior Julia Lonnegren has been named the Conference USA Diver of the Week after winning two individual events this past weekend at the Phill Hansel Cougar Classic.
Lonnegren bested her teammates Natasha Burgess and Torri Olanski to hold onto top honors in the 1M and platform competitions on the way to her second C-USA Diver of the Week award this season, and the fourth of her career. Lonnegren also finished as runner up to Burgess in the 3M event.
The Forolund, Sweden native had previously qualified for the NCAA Zone Diving Championships in the 1M and 3M heading into the weekend's competition. In her first platform competition of the year, Lonnegren was able to secure a third entry into the Zone Championships.
UP NEXT
The Houston divers will compete at the Texas Invitational held by the University of Texas Dec. 1-3 before shutting down competition for the winter break.
