GENERAL NOTES
1. With Saturday's win, the Cougars improved to 6-0 for only the fourth time in school history... It is the first time since 1990... Other Houston teams that started 6-0 are 1979 and 1973.
2. The Cougars improved to 2-0 in Conference USA play for the second straight season and the third time in the last four years.
3. Saturday's contest marked the sixth-straight game the Cougars scored at least 35 points.
4. Saturday's win was the fewest points allowed by the Cougars against a conference opponent since a 24-3 win against Tulane on Oct. 30, 2004.
5. Saturday's attendance of 30,126 was the 12th-largest crowd in the history of Robertson Stadium... Of the top 12 crowds in the facility history, 10 have been recorded since the 2009 season.
Case Keenum IN THE NCAA RECORDS BOOK
6. With 292 yards of total offense (304 pass, -12 rush), senior quarterback Case Keenum moved closer to the NCAA career record... Keenum now has 16,781 yards (15,895 pass, 886 rush) during his career... Hawai'i's Timmy Chang holds the NCAA career record with 16,910 yards from 2000 to 2004.
7. With 304 passing yards, Keenum moved higher in the NCAA records book... Keenum moved past Texas Tech's Graham Harrell (15,793 yards, 2005-08) into second place in NCAA career history... Keenum now has 15,895 passing yards during his career... Up next in the NCAA records book is Hawai'i's Timmy Chang who set the NCAA career passing record with 17,072 yards from 2000 to 2004.
8. With three touchdown passes, Keenum broke out of a tie with BYU's Ty Detmer and moved into sole possession of third place in NCAA career history with 124 career touchdown passes... Up next in the NCAA records book is Hawaii's Colt Brennan, who threw for 131 touchdowns from 2005-07.

9. With Saturday's win, Keenum won his 18th consecutive home game at Robertson Stadium... Keenum improved to 18-1 overall in home games during his career... Keenum's only home loss as a starter was a 37-35 loss to East Carolina on Sept. 29, 2007.
10. With Saturday's performance, Keenum now has 17 touchdown passes and only two interceptions... Keenum has thrown no interceptions in five of the Cougars' six games to date.
11. Keenum has now thrown 136 consecutive passes without an interception... That is the eighth-longest streak in school history... Keenum owns four of the top 11 passing streaks without an interception in school history.
12. With three touchdown passes, Keenum posted the 32nd multi-touchdown game of his career.
13. With 304 yards, Keenum posted the 31st 300-yard game of his career.
14. Keenum improved to 30-13 all-time as the Cougars' starting quarterback... He owns the school career record with his win total.
OFFENSIVE NOTES
15. This was the third time this season that the Cougars scored a touchdown on their opening drive (vs. UCLA, Sept. 3; vs. Georgia State, Sept. 24).
16. Saturday's opening drive touchdown was the second fastest time that the Cougars scored in a game this season... Houston scored a touchdown only 2:51 into the Georgia State game on Sept. 24.
17. Saturday's first-half points total was the most scored by an East Carolina opponent this season... It topped the 28 first-half points scored by North Carolina on Oct. 1 in Greenville, N.C.
18. With his 1-yard touchdown run on the opening drive of the game, senior running back Bryce Beall recorded the 45th touchdown of his career and his 38th career rushing score... Both are career records at Houston.
19. Running backs Bryce Beall, Charles Sims and Michael Hayes each recorded rushing touchdowns in the first half... It was the second time this season that each member of the Cougars' backfield finished with a rushing score in a game... The trio first accomplished that feat against Georgia State on Sept. 24.
20. Senior wide receiver Patrick Edwards recorded the 12th 100-yard receiving game of his career.
21. With 133 receiving yards, Edwards moved into second place in Houston career record in that category... Edwards now has 3,399 receiving yards during his career... Vincent Marshall set the Houston career record with 3,770 yards from 2003 to 2006.
22. With two receiving touchdowns, Edwards moved into sole possession of third place in Houston career history with 28 scores... Up next in the Houston records book is Manny Hazard, who caught 31 touchdown passes from 1989 to 1990.
23. Edwards recorded a reception in his 40th consecutive game.
24. Senior wide receiver Tyron Carrier recorded a reception in his nation-leading 45th consecutive game, every game of his collegiate career.
25. Senior quarterback Cotton Turner rushed for his first career touchdown at the 1:19 mark of the fourth quarter.
DEFENSIVE NOTES
26. The Cougars limited East Carolina to 21 rushing yards on 30 attempts... That is the fewest rushing yards by a Cougar opponent since Army rushed for 10 yards on Nov. 15, 2003 at West Point, N.Y.
27. This was the first time since Oct. 20, 2007, at UAB that the Cougars posted four interceptions in a game.
28. With two interceptions, junior linebacker Phillip Steward recorded his first and second interceptions of the season and the fourth of his career at the 9:23 mark of the second quarter.
29. Junior linebacker Phillip Steward enjoyed the first multi-interception game of his career.
30. Freshman linebacker Derrick Mathews posted the first interception of his career at the 6:09 mark of the second quarter.
31. Sophomore cornerback Thomas Bates recorded his team-leading third interception of the season around the 14:21 mark of the fourth quarter.
SERIES NOTES
32. With Saturday's win, the Cougars improved to 5-6 in the all-time series against East Carolina.
33. With 56 points, the Cougars scored the program's most points in the all-time series against the Pirates... It topped the 48 points scored by the Cougars in a 54-48 loss in triple overtime on Nov. 9, 2002, at Robertson Stadium.
34. Saturday's win was the biggest in the all-time series against East Carolina... It bested the previous high of 17 points in a 41-24 victory on Sept. 27, 2008, at Greenville, N.C.
UP NEXT
35. The Cougars will enjoy their bye weekend before returning to action on Saturday, Oct. 22, against Conference USA East member Marshall in the 66th annual Homecoming game at Robertson Stadium... That game will be televised live on CSS... Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. (CDT).
