New Houston Athletics Kids Spirit Squad Launches April 16

The University of Houston Athletics Department will launch the all new Shasta’s Squad Friday, April 16, when the Cougar baseball team competes against Conference USA rival Memphis at Cougar Field at 6:30 p.m. This new and exciting program gives young fans the opportunity to be more involved with Houston Athletics.
The program is aimed for Cougar faithful in eighth grade and below. Membership to the squad costs $35 and for families with more than one child who would like to join, a special prorate will be offered. Each year as a Shasta’s Squad member you will receive a Shasta signed birthday card, Little Cougar Tracks, access to exclusive events and other official member benefits.
Benefits:
• Free admission to all regular season home games/events for the following sports: baseball, softball, women’s basketball, volleyball, track and field, soccer, tennis and swimming and diving
• Discounted tickets to regular season home men’s basketball games
• Shasta’s Squad T-shirt
• Shasta signed birthday card
• Fun interaction with Shasta and cheerleaders at annual holiday/summer picnics exclusively for Shasta’s Squad
• Quarterly newsletter titled The Little Cougar Tracks
Throughout the year, Shasta’s Squad will hold special events for members. These events will include:
• Shasta’s Squad Kick-off
• “A Night with the Cougars” – Shasta’s Squad and student-athletes
• Pre-game parties/picnics before and during baseball games
• Basketball Madness for double-header game night
