Kalyn Floyd To Compete At NCAA Championships

HOUSTON - Junior sprinter Kalyn Floyd will represent the University of Houston track and field team at the NCAA Championships in Fayetteville, Ark., on March 12-13 at Randal Tyson Track Center.
The Houston, Texas native will compete in the 200m dash after having qualified for the event at the Texas A&M Challenge on Feb. 13. Floyd earned the mark with a personal best time of 23.49 - the third fastest time in program history.
Floyd has made quite an impact this season, breaking the 400m school record as she ran a 53.30 in the prelims at the New Balance Invitational on Feb. 6. She also served as the leadoff leg on the women's 4x400m relay team that set a provisional mark with a time of 3:37.60 at the Texas A&M Challenge.
At the Conference USA Championships, Floyd took silver in the 200m dash with a provisional-qualifying time of 24.12 and finished third in the 400m dash, clocking a 55.40.
