Former Cougars Continue Successful Legacy

HOUSTON - Former Cougars Carey LaCour, Ebonie Floyd and Seun Adigun carry on the proud tradition of the University of Houston track and field program, appearing in two prestigious events. LaCour and Floyd made the final round of their respective events at the USA Indoor Track and Field Championships in Albuquerque, N.M., on Feb. 27-28, while Adigun is set to compete at the IAAF World Indoor Championships for Nigeria on March 12-14 in Doha, Qatar.
LaCour finished fifth in the 60m dash with a time of 6.59. Running as a Cougar from 2004-07, LaCour has the fifth best 400m-dash time in program history. He served as the anchor on the 2005 and 2006 NCAA Outdoor All-American 4x100m relay team. LaCour earned six individual conference championship titles while at Houston.
Floyd placed eighth in the 400m dash, clocking a 53.98. The former standout student-athlete competed for Houston from 2003-07, being named Conference USA Outdoor Athlete of the Year in 2006 and 2007, as well as C-USA Freshman of the Year in 2003 for both the indoor and outdoor seasons. The All-American achieved nine individual conference championship titles and holds school records in the 60m dash and 200m dash.
Adigun will make her second appearance at the IAAF World Championships in the 60m hurdles this weekend. She first competed for Nigeria in the 2009 outdoor summer events in Berlin. The current Houston assistant sprints and hurdles coach made an impression in the program record books during her time at Houston (2006-09). She holds the school record in the 60m hurdles, recording three of the top five all-time performances in the event. She also makes a mark in the top-five 55m hurdles records. Named a 2009 Outdoor NCAA All-American, Adigun earned five individual conference championship titles. She was also named the 2009 Outdoor C-USA Athlete of the Year.
