TEAM NOTES
* With Saturday's win, the Cougars remained in a tie with SMU atop the Conference USA West Division with a 4-1 league mark... The Cougars defeated SMU 45-20 in Dallas on Oct. 23.
* With 651 total yards (403 pass, 248 rush), the Cougars posted their second-highest output in 2010...Saturday's total trailed only the 656 yards of offense against Conference USA-rival UTEP on Sept. 10.
* That was the sixth time in eight games that the Cougars scored on their opening possession... Houston did not score on opening drives at UCLA and at Rice... In all six games, the Cougars scored a touchdown on their opening drives.
* Houston improved to 126-124-6 (.543) all-time during the month of October.

* Freshman defensive back Kent Brooks recorded the first interception of his career late around the 4:05 mark of the fourth quarter.
* With three receptions, junior wide receiver Tyron Carrier recorded a catch in his 35th consecutive game.
