2008 Houston Cougars Football Postgame Notes

TEAM NOTES
** With 28 points, the Cougars scored in their 95th consecutive game... The Cougars have not been shut out since a 48-0 loss at Texas on Sept. 23, 2000.
** Saturday's game was the first meeting between Houston and Air Force on the football field.
** The Cougars are 78-89-4 (.462) all-time when playing in the month of September.
** Houston is now 2-4 all-time when playing on Sept. 13.
** The Cougars held Air Force to zero yards passing. That is only the third time in program history Houston has held an opponent to no yards passing. The last time was against Tennessee on Dec. 5, 1953.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
** Sophomore quarterback Case Keenum threw 219 consecutive passes without an interception before Anthony Wright of Air Force intercepted a pass at the 8:44 mark in the fourth quarter... The Abilene, Texas, native had not thrown an interception since the first quarter against C-USA rival Marshall on Nov. 17, 2007. He now holds the record for most consecutive passes without an interception... passing Kevin Kolb's record of 191 (9/9/06-10/21/06).
** With 362 passing yards, sophomore quarterback Case Keenum recorded the fourth 300-yard passing game of his career... The Cougars fell to 1-3 (.250) in games in which Keenum reaches 300 yards.
** With 362 passing yards, sophomore quarterback Case Keenum recorded his fourth consecutive game with at least 300 passing yards... He became the first Cougar quarterback since Jimmy Klingler recorded four consecutive 300-yard passing games from Oct. 24-Nov. 21, 1992.
** Sophomore quarterback Case Keenum completed 34 passes against Air Force, marking the second consecutive game that he has completed at least 30 passes. He completed 35 passes against Oklahoma State on Sept. 6, 2008.
** With his four touchdown passes, sophomore Case Keenum has thrown at least four touchdown passes in two consecutive games.
** Senior Mark Hafner recorded three receiving touchdowns against Air Force making him the first Cougar since Ron Peters on Nov. 28 1992 (vs. Rice) to have three receiving touchdowns in a game.
** With his 14-yard touchdown catch at the 7:41 mark of the first quarter, senior wide receiver Mark Hafner recorded his fourth receiving touchdown of 2008... It also was his third straight game to catch at least one touchdown pass... He became the first Cougar to record touchdown catches in three consecutive games since Donnie Avery and against ECU (Sept. 29, 2007), against Rice (Oct. 13, 2007) and at Alabama (Oct. 6, 2007).
** With his 7-yard touchdown pass at the 10:11 mark in the fourth quarter, senior Mark Hafner recorded the second multi-receiving touchdown game of his career. He finished with three on the day. His final touchdown came on a 7-yard pass at the 3:38 mark in the fourth quarter.
** With his touchdown at the 3:19 mark of the third quarter, Andre Kohn, recorded the second career receiving touchdown of his career. His first career receiving touchdown was a 67-yard touchdown against TCU on Dec. 28, 2007 at the Texas Bowl.
** Senior linebacker Cody Lubojasky did not start Saturday's game ending his streak of 41 consecutive starts dating back to the 2005 season opener... His streak was the nation's longest active streak.
** Sophomore Britton Maxwell made his first career start at outside linebacker.
** Senior Jake Ebner started at defensive tackle... The start marks the third position that Ebner has made a start at in his career. He also has starts at tight end and guard.
