Cross Country Will Host The 2008 Cougar Classic Carnival

HOUSTON--The University of Houston will play host to the Cougar Classic Cross Country Carnival Saturday, which is a high school and junior high meet only.
The course will be at the University of Houston's Intramural Fields located at the corner of Cullen Blvd. and Elgin, just off of I-45.
The junior high races will be approximately 1600 meters (1 loop) and the high school race will be approximately 3200 meters (2 loops).
The races are slated to begin at 7:30 a.m. with the freshmen girls. The final race will be at 10 a.m. with the junior high boys. The awards ceremony will begin at 10:30 a.m.
Entries must be turned in to Houston's head cross-country coach Ryan Turner by Thursday 5 p.m. These may be faxed or mailed.

All entries can pick up their packets Saturday morning, beginning at 6:30 a.m.
T-shirts and concessions will be available for purchase.
The Cougars will kick-off their season Aug. 29, as they play host to the 2008 Johnny Morriss Invitational located at the University of Houston Intramural Fields.
The women will begin the 3200 meter race at 6:45 p.m. and the men at 7:15 p.m with the 4800 meter race.
