2008 Houston Cougars Football Postgame Notes

TEAM NOTES
** Saturday's game was the second time that the Cougars visited Gerald J. Ford Stadium in Dallas in 2008... The Cougars' scheduled home game against Air Force on Sept. 13 was moved to Ford Stadium due to Hurricane Ike... The Cougars dropped a 31-28 decision to Air Force in their previous visit.
** The Cougars have started 3-0 in conference play only seven times during their all-time history... UH has never accomplished the feat in Conference USA, five times in the Southwest Conference (1990, 1984, 1979, 1978, 1976) and twice in the Missouri Valley Conference (1956, 1952)
** With 44 points, the Cougars scored in their 99th consecutive game... The Cougars have not been shut out since a 48-0 loss at Texas on Sept. 23, 2000.
** The Cougars are 14-9-1 all-time against SMU... The Cougars are 8-3 all-time against SMU in Dallas.
** The Cougars are 120-121-6 all-time when playing in the month of October.
** The Cougars 3-4-1 all when playing on Oct. 18... Saturday's game was the Cougars' first on Oct. 18 since the 2003 season.
** The Cougars are 108-99-8 all-time against Bowl Subdivision members from the state of Texas.... The Cougars are 130-116-9 all-time against teams all schools from the state of Texas.
** The Cougars are 43-45 (.488) all-time in C-USA games.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
** With two touchdown passes, sophomore quarterback Case Keenum has thrown a touchdown pass in 10 consecutive games.
** With two touchdown passes, sophomore quarterback Case Keenum recorded the 10 multi-touchdown game of his career.
** With 404 passing yards, sophomore quarterback Case Keenum recorded the second 400-yard passing game of his career.... The Cougars are 2-0 during games in which Keenum throws for 400 yards.
** With 404 passing yards, sophomore quarterback Case Keenum recorded his eighth consecutive game with at least 300 passing yards... He tied the school record held by David Klingler in that category... Klingler threw for at least 300 yards in eight consecutive games from Sept. 8 to Nov. 3, 1990.
** With 404 passing yards, sophomore quarterback Case Keenum set a career-high in passing yards. Keenum's previous best was 401 yards passing against East Carolina on Sept. 27, 2008.
** With his two touchdowns, sophomore quarterback Case Keenum now has 47 touchdowns responsible for tying him with Jason McKinley (1997-2000) for 5th place all-time in touchdowns responsible for.
** With 105 rushing yards, freshman running back Bryce Beall recorded the fourth 100-yard rushing game of his career ... The Cougars are 4-0 in games in which Beall reaches triple digits.
** With his three rushing touchdowns, freshman running back Bryce Beall set a career record for rushing touchdowns in a single game. The last time a Cougar rushed for three touchdowns was Oct. 13, 2007 when Anthony Alridge rushed for four touchdowns against Rice.
** With his fumble recovery at the 1:35 minute mark of the second quarter, redshirt sophomore Isaiah Thompson recovered the first fumble of his career.
** With his sack in the second quarter, senior Phillip Hunt recorded his 9th sack of the season and the 28.5th of his career.
** With his interception on the one-yard line at the 1:28 minute mark of the second quarter, senior Kenneth Fontenette recorded the ninth interception of his career.
** With his six points, redshirt junior kicker Ben Bell moved into third place all-time in kick scoring with 209 points, passing Mike Clendenen, who scored 207 points from 1981-84.

** With his 160 receiving yards, senior Mark Hafner recorded the second 100-yard receiving game this season and the third of his career. Hafner recorded 103 yards receiving against Southern in the season opener (8-30-08). Houston is 3-0 in games in which Hafner reaches triple digits.
** With his 73 kick return yards, sophomore Kierrie Johnson set a career-high in kick return yards. His previous best was 30 yards against UAB on Oct. 9, 2008.
** Junior offensive lineman Josh Bell made his first career start.
