BASEBALL SCOREBOARD PROJECT NEARS COMPLETION

Through the generous support of two lead donors, Bruce Williams and Linda Davis, and Trustmark Bank, a "state of the art" scoreboard with video and digital messaging boards is being installed at Cougar Field. This will be a great improvement over the previous scoreboard and is needed in order to remain competitive in Conference USA.
The generous gifts of our lead donors and a few other Cougar faithful have raised slightly more than half of the $600,000 needed to complete this project. All donors of $100 and above will be recognized on a plaque that will be located at Cougar Field. If you are interested in donating to the scoreboard, please contact the Cougar Pride office at 713-743-4684. There will be a dedication of the scoreboard on Saturday, April 14 during the UH vs Rice game. All donors will be invited to a special reception prior to the game.
NEW SOFTBALL SCOREBOARD DEDICATED
During its season opener against Texas-Arlington on Feb. 9, the University of Houston softball program dedicated a new scoreboard in right field thanks to the generous contributions by the friends and family of Alicia Wagner. A majority of the funds were contributed by Alicia's daughters, Laurie, a sophomore right fielder on the Cougar softball team, and Leah, a student at UH. Special thanks to the Encore Trust Company, attorney Frank Holcomb and his wife Carol along with the partners and staff of the Mithoff law firm.
UH Director of Athletics Dave Maggard was in attendance at this special dedication along with Laurie and Leah Wagner, grandmother Ruth Skelton, Laurie and Leah's uncle and his wife, Bill and Susan Wagner, and their Aunt, Julie Wagner McNamara.
