HOUSTON, Texas - For the first time since prior to the Conference USA Championship Game back on December 1, the University of Houston practiced today in full pads for over two hours in preparation for the AutoZone Liberty Bowl on Friday, Dec. 29 in Memphis, Tenn.
The Cougars will face South Carolina from the Southeastern Conference.
"Practice went very well today," said UH head coach Art Briles. "It was our first time in pads for the first time in a long time. It was a very spirited practice with a lot of bouncing around. And, we had great weather to work out in.
"We're trying to get the game plans down, so it was a good, productive day."
Houston will practice again on Sunday afternoon at the UH Practice Fields. The Cougars are slated to work out the first three days of the upcoming week before shutting practice down for the Christmas Holidays. Before heading to Memphis on the morning of December 26, the Cougars will have a light work out on Christmas evening.
