TEAM NOTES
** Houston fell to 6-3 (.667) in the all-time series against Louisiana-Lafayette... The Cougars saw their six-game winning streak, dating back to the 1948 season, snapped.
** Houston fell to 113-119-6 (.487) all-time in the month of October.
** Houston fell to 20-11 (.645) all-time against teams from the state of Louisiana... The Cougars also fell to 2-1 against teams from Louisiana during the 2006 season, reeling off a 45-7 win over C-USA rival Tulane (Sept. 9) and a 42-22 win over Grambling State (Sept. 16) during back-to-back weeks.
** Houston improved to 4-6-1 (.409) all-time when playing on Oct. 7.
** With 405 yards of total offense, the Cougars topped the 400-yard mark for the 27th time under head coach Art Briles.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
** Senior quarterback Kevin Kolb made the 42nd consecutive start of his career... With that total, he set a UH record and moved past former signal-caller Jason McKinley (1997-00) for the most consecutive starts by a quarterback in UH history.
** With 367 passing yards, senior quarterback Kevin Kolb recorded the 14th 300-yard passing game in his career... It also was his third 300-yard passing game during the 2006 season... The Cougars are 5-9 (.357) all-time during games in which Kolb passes for 300 yards.
** With 24 completions, senior quarterback Kevin Kolb moved past Jason McKinley (1997-00) and set a UH record in that category.... Kolb finished the night with 808 career pass completions.
** With two touchdown passes, senior quarterback Kevin Kolb recorded his fifth game in 2006 with multi-TD passes and the 22nd multi-touchdown game of his career.
** Senior quarterback Kevin Kolb's 5-yard touchdown run at the 14:06 mark of the second quarter was his 19th career rushing touchdown... Kolb already holds the UH career record in that category.
** With three touchdowns responsible for (2 passing, 1 rushing), senior quarterback Kevin Kolb moved past Louisville quarterback Chris Redman for second place in Conference USA history with 88 career touchdowns responsible for... Up next in the C-USA records books is Memphis quarterback Danny Wimprine who holds the C-USA record with 93 career touchdowns responsible for from 2001-04.
** With 339 yards of total offense (367 passing, -28 rushing), senior quarterback Kevin Kolb moved into 15th place in NCAA career history with 11,535 yards (10,911 passing, 624 rushing)... Up next in the NCAA records book is Northwestern's Brett Basanez who racked up 11,661 yards of total offense (10,580 passing, 996 rushing) in his career from 2002 to 2005.
** With 367 passing yards, senior quarterback Kevin Kolb moved into 20th place in NCAA career history with 10,911 career passing yards... Up next in the NCAA records book is Pittsburgh's Alex Van Pelt, who threw for 10,913 yards from 1988 to 1992.
** With 118 receiving yards, junior wide receiver Jeron Harvey recorded his first career 100-yard game... Harvey topped his previous single-game high of 60 receiving yards set at Tulane on Oct. 8, 2005.
** With his reception on the Cougars' opening drive, senior wide receiver Vincent Marshall recorded a reception in his 42nd consecutive game... Marshall is now only one game away from tying the UH career record, held by wide receiver Orlando Iglesias (1997-01).
** Junior linebacker Trent Allen's interception at the end of the first quarter was his second career interception and his first pickoff during the 2006 season.
