Seven Student-Athletes Earn C-USA Commissioner's Academic Medal

HOUSTON - Seven University of Houston student-athletes earned the Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Medal for their performances in the classroom during the 2004-05 year, Commissioner Britton Banowsky announced Wednesday.
Ashish Patel (golf), Kristin Cooper (Soccer), Jennifer Dry (Soccer), Sarah Fisher (Soccer), Szintia Szanto (Swimming), Stacey Williams (Swimming) and Nichole Brundage (Women's Track and Field) received the honor after posting a cumulative grade point average of 3.75 or higher during the academic year.
More than 340 student-athletes earned the Medal during the 2004-05 academic year. There was a better than five percent increase in the number of athletes receiving the honor from last year (325).
