HOUSTON - 2005 Houston Cougars Football Postgame Notes

** With Saturday's loss, the Cougars fell to 114-96-4 (.542) all-time in games played during the month of November.
** With 133 rushing yards, senior running back Ryan Gilbert recorded his fifth 100-yard rushing game during the 2005 season and in his career... It was his second straight game to rush for at least 100 yards... The Cougars fell to 4-1 in games in which Gilbert rushes for at least 100 yards.
**With 278 yards of total offense, junior quarterback Kevin Kolb now has over 9,000 yards of total offense in his career, becoming just the second player in UH history to do so... Up next in the UH records book is school-record holder David Klingler, who accounted for 9,327 yards of total offense from 1988-91.
**With 0:32 left in the second quarter junior quarterback Kevin Kolb rushed for the 14th touchdown of his career, breaking a tie with Ken Bailey (1967-69) and moving into third-place all-time for rushing touchdowns by a quarterback... With 10:25 left in the game, Kolb registered the 15th rushing touchdown of his career and moved into a tie for second place with Gary Mullins (1969-71).
** With 273 passing yards, junior quarterback Kevin Kolb moved past Jason McKinley (8,694 yards, 1997-00) into second place in UH career history with 8,719 career passing yards... Up next in the UH records book is school-record holder David Klinger, who passed for 9,430 yards from 1988-91.
** Junior wide receiver Vincent Marshall caught a reception in his 34th consecutive game dating back to the season opener on Aug. 30, 2003, against Rice at Robertson Stadium.
** With his nine-yard touchdown in the first quarter, junior wide receiver Vincent Marshall moved into a tie with Orlando Iglesias (1997-2001) for sixth place in UH career history with 17 receiving touchdowns... Up next in the UH records book is Jason Phillips, who caught 18 touchdown passes from 1987-88.
**At the 9:52 mark of the second quarter, true freshman cornerback Quinte Williams recorded the first fumble recovery of his career.
** Consecutive Starts Streaks: Senior defensive end Kade Lane made his 46th consecutive start, dating back to Aug. 31, 2002, against Rice at Rice Stadium... Quarterback Kevin Kolb made his 34th consecutive start dating back to season opener on Aug. 30, 2003, against Rice at Robertson Stadium.
