HOUSTON - University of Houston freshman Tania Cagnotto was honored Tuesday as the Conference USA Diver of the Week.
It was the third weekly honor for Cagnotto this season and the fourth award for UH divers in a five-week span.
The Bolzano, Italy, native swept both diving events during a tri-meet Friday against new C-USA rival SMU, Wyoming and host North Texas.
She scored a UH season-best 321.00 points on the 1-meter event and followed that with another top performance with 326.25 points on the 3-meter board. Cagnotto was the only diver to crack 300 points in both events and has scored at least 300 points in all five appearances on the 3-meter springboard this season.
It also was the 26th time since the 2001-02 season that a Cougar was named C-USA Diver of the Week.
SMU's Roxane Akradi was named the C-USA Swimmer of the Week.
Cagnotto and her Cougar teammates return to action when they compete at the Texas A&M Invitational, beginning Friday, in College Station, Texas.
