** With Saturday's loss, Memphis evened the all-time series against the Cougars at 9-9 ... Memphis extended its winning streak to three straight games against the Cougars dating back to the 2003 season.
** Cougars fell to 112-118-6 (.487) all-time in the month of October.
** The Cougars fell to 25-40(.385) all-time in Conference USA games.... The Cougars fell to 71-62-1 (.534) all-time against current C-USA teams.
** With 502 yards of total offense, the Cougar offense recorded their 21st game with at least 400 yards of total offense under head coach Art Briles... It also was the 10th game with more than 500 yards of total offense by the Cougars under Briles.
** With a touchdown at the 14:20 mark of the first quarter, the Cougars scored on their opening possession for the fourth time this season... It was the Cougars' third touchdown on their initial drive in 2005.
** With his 79-yard reception on the Cougars' first-play of the game, junior wide receiver Vincent Marshall caught a reception in his 30th consecutive game dating back to the season opener on Aug. 30, 2003, against Rice at Robertson Stadium.
** With 139 receiving yards, junior wide receiver Vincent Marshall recorded the 10th 100-yard receiving game of his career and his second game of the 2005 season... With 10 100-yard receiving games in his career, Marshall moved into a tie with Orlando Iglesias (1997-01) for fifth place in career history.
** With six receptions, junior wide receiver Vincent Marshall moved into a tie with Freddie Gilbert (158 catches, 1991-92) for fifth place in UH career history with 158 career catches... He moved past Elmo Wright (153 catches, 1968-70); Kimble Anders (155 catches, 1985-89)... Up next in the UH records book is James Dixon, who caught 161 passes from 1991-92.
** Wide receivers Vincent Marshall (139 yards) and Donnie Avery (112 yards) became the first UH wideouts since Anthony Alridge (103 yards) and Avery (100 yards) accomplished the feat against Oregon on Sept. 1 in the season opener at Reliant Stadium
** With 386 passing yards, junior quarterback Kevin Kolb recorded the ninth 300-yard passing game of his career and his third 300-yard game of the 2005 season.
** With 386 passing yards, junior quarterback Kevin Kolb moved past former Tulane quarterback Shaun King (1996-98) into ninth place in Conference USA career history with 7,599 career passing yards... Up next in the UH records book is current UAB quarterback Darrell Hackney, who has thrown for 8,298 passing yards entering Saturday's game at Marshall.
** Senior Kendal Briles' 10-yard pass to wide receiver Anthony Alridge was his the first completion of his career and his first pass attempt and completion of the 2005 season.
** Sophomore linebacker Brendan Pahulu's interception around the 0:50 mark of the second quarter was the first of his career.
** Sophomore linebacker Trent Allen's fumble recovery around the 10-minute mark of the third quarter was the first of his career.
** With two field goals, freshman kicker Ben Bell recorded the second multi-field goal game of his career and the 2005 season... He connected to two field goals at Conference USA rival UTEP on Sept. 16, 2005.
** Consecutive Starts Streaks: Senior defensive end Kade Lane made his 42nd consecutive start, dating back to Aug. 31, 2002, against Rice at Rice Stadium... Quarterback Kevin Kolb made his 30th consecutive start dating back to season opener on Aug. 30, 2003, against Rice at Robertson Stadium.
