Aanerud and Easley Sign With UH

Houston, Texas- - University of Houston head track and field coach Leroy Burrell announced the signings of Danielle Aanerud and Rachel Easley for the 2004 season.
Aanerud will attend Houston after competing in the pole vault at Poteet High School, where she finished seventh in the Texas State Class 4A Championships after clearing 10'. Aanerud had a personal-best clearance of 10'7" and joins her high school teammate Caresir Hamiton, who also signed with Houston earlier this spring and won the triple jump at the State meet with a mark of 40'10 1/2".
Easley comes to Houston from Duncanville High School, where she was a regional qualifier in the 100-meter hurdles and the long and triple jumps for second straight year. Duncanville High School.
Easley won the 100-meter hurdles and triple jumps at the District 4-5A this season and finished second in the long jump. She was ranked among the top four triple jumpers in the state this year before she injured her ankle at the Region II-5A Championships.
She was a state qualifier in the hurdles as a junior and comes to Houston with career best marks of 18' 10" in the long jump and 39'11" in the triple jump. She chose to attend Houston after visiting Auburn, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech.
