Golf Finishes in Fourth Place at C-USA Tournament

TAMPA, Fla. - University of Houston senior Brett Callas fired a 2-over-par 73 Wednesday during the final round of the Conference USA to finish in a tie for 3rd-place.
Callas, who became only the 11th player in school history to shoot 65 or better in his last tournament, was the only Cougar to make the All-Tournament Team.
As a team, the Cougars posted a score of 301 in the final round to finish in fourth place behind TCU (862), UAB (869) and South Florida (876).
Senior John Wine finished the tournament at 5-over-par 218 tied for 10th-place.
Other Cougars competing were Daniel Angenscheidt (t-36th, 225), Denton Walker (t-45th, 229) and Zach Mowbray (t-45th, 229).
Louisville (881), Southern Miss (883), Memphis (888), East Carolina (892), Marquette (892) and Tulane (894) rounded out the Top 10 team leaders.
Charlotte's Russell Killough won medallist honors. TCU's Adam Meyer, South Florida's Oscar Fraustro and Memphis's Alan Weant were named to the All-Tournament Team.
