Swimming and Diving Falls at Arkansas

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The University of Houston swimming and diving team started a busy weekend Friday with a tough 199-95 loss to Arkansas at the Arkansas Natatorium.
The Cougars (2-3), who saw their two-meet winning streak snapped, were led by sophomore diver Yulia Pakhalina who captured first place in both the one- and three-meter diving competitions.
Elissa Nelson (1,000-yard freestyle), Lucile Turpin (200-yard butterfly, 400-yard individual medley) and Stacey Ebeling (200-yard breaststroke) each captured second place in their respective individual events.
The Cougar relay team of Ebeling, Jessica Dewitt, Falon Hopkins and Kristen Douglass captured second place in the 400-yard medley relay with a time of 4:09.96.
The Cougars continue north to meet Kansas and host Southwest Missouri State in dual matches at Springfield, Mo., on Saturday.
